Yesterday morning, we went to our church's Easter Egg Hunt. Madison had a great time playing some of the games inside...there was a game where she was supposed to carry a wooden egg on a wooden spoon while walking. She did okay at first, but then she decided that it was easier to HOLD the egg on the spoon. CHEATER! lol She also made a little pot of flowers, a flower out of her handprint and she even got to color a blank egg with a butterfly. Then she went and had lots of fun on the bouncehouse as she jumped so high! There's nothing like her big beautiful smile to make my day! :)
We met Gordon's mom for lunch and went to Bass Pro where they wanted to go. While we were there, Madison went on another egg hunt...more of a scavenger hunt where she had to go to each department and find an egg from each, then bring them back to the lady at the front for her treat bag. She had fun and LOVED the candy treats! We went and saw the Easter Bunny there...Katelyn sat in her carseat next to the bunny and Madison sat on the bench with her. They gave us a card and said we can see her pics online...I'll post a link when it's up...takes 2 days. She was worn out from the day since she only got to nap a little on the way there. We got home and the girls took a nap. Then later we met them for dinner at Red Robin. It was pretty good, except the burger they brought me wasn't exactly cooked enough...I'm fairly certain it mooed at me.
As we were leaving dinner, there were fireworks right next door in the field at the end of the shopping center. I have no idea why they were having fireworks, but we quickly drove around the other side, so Madison could see them. Gordon has been playing some game on the computer and when he finishes, there are fireworks. Madison likes watching these on the computer, so I was excited for her to see some IRL. She was just enamored with them! Meanwhile, Katelyn started crying, since it was time to eat, so I pulled her out of her carseat and fed her there in the car while Madison watched the fireworks. When they were done, we were still sitting there bc Katelyn wasnt done eating, so Madison fell asleep. Of course, when Katelyn was done, she cried in her carseat almost all the way home...but luckily, Madison didn't wake up! We put her straight to bed and Katelyn had fallen asleep by the time we got home too. boy, that baby girl needs to learn to take a paci when she's upset!!!
Today, we are going to go to the Y for their easter egg hunt. Last year they had a bouncehouse, some games, face painting, i think, and cupcake decorating. Madison had a great time last year, and she was only 18mo, so I'm guessing she'll really enjoy it this year! That is at 4pm today, so in the meantime, both girls and Daddy are napping...gotta rest up for the Easter Bunny! lol
hmmm...madison is now awake saying "puppy has a haircut!" uh-oh....she better not have found scissors somewhere!!!
