When Gordon and I were walking down the strip with Seana, Tong, Andru and Paige, it didn't take long for the boys to seperate and walk by themselves, as the girls (Seana, Paige and me) walked behind them. Funny how that happens...

This is the view of the Grand Canyon as we flew over it...pretty good pic for flying a couple hundred miles an hour, a few thousand feet in the air!!OMG, we had SUCH a fabulous time in Vegas! We left early Saturday monring and just got home about 9pm last night. We did sooooo much! We flew in Saturday morning and instead of the wave of heat I expected...(oh, but as they say, its a "dry" heat...uh, dry heat is still heat!!), we were pleasantly surprised with weather in the 60s and a nice breeze, too. In fact, it was almost cold as we were waiting for the shuttle to our hotel! Very nice!
We stayed at the Paris hotel, right across from the Bellagio. We were able to see the fountains every time we left our hotel and though our room didn't have a great view of them, our friends' room did, so as we got togther every day, we could check out the view from their room when we went to meet them. Beautiful! We did walk over to the Bellagio and watch a few shows during the week. They even played Hoedown, (my high school orchestra friends will know that one, or if you remember the "beef. it's whats for dinner" commercial years ago, it was that song). As the fountains danced to the music, I was sitting there, doing the fingerings for the viola's piece of that music. Kind of surprised I still remembered them all!!! lol It's even more magestic at night and especially from the Eiffel Tower!
We wanted to go to a magic show, but the good ones are usually $50-$150, and our friends had their kids with them, so we wanted a kid friendly show. So we were going to go to Lance Burton, but apparently he's not performing bc he's hurt...guess his magic didn't work! So we went to Nathan Burton (not sure if there is a relation there), apparently, he was on that american idol-ish talent show....americas got talent? Is that what it was called? So it was a "comedy magic show" and we werent expecting too much at $22 a person. But boy were we wrong! That guys magic was great! He had a treasure box suspended in the air by strings and randomly tossed a blow up sign in the audience, a kid caught it, gave it to his mom and Nathan asked what kind of cereal she liked. She tossed it to someone else a few rows ahead (and that person wasnt looking back trying to catch it) and she was asked what price she'd pay for it. Long story short, later in the show, he lowerd the box and in it was the life cereal that the first lady mentioned, and on the back was the price, $3.59 typed on a piece of paper and taped to the box. weird. So you might think, well, they were picked bf the show....
then he did another trick, there was a chalkboard suspended by strings way up high in the air, covered with a cloth. The magician picked a random kid from the audience....not preplanned either. I know bc it was my friend's kid, who was sitting right by me. So Andru went up there, the guy asked him some questions, which of the showgirls would you like to date, where would you go on a date, what would you do after dinner, what would you watch, what would you say if she asked you to marry her...at the end of it, he lowered the board and it had ALL of Andru's answers on it! I was watching the board bc I knew that's what he would do and I couldnt see anything moving. Not sure how he did that. He did some other magic tricks that were really neat, but the BEST part was the mask skit. He asked one guy to stand up from the audience and asked how tall he was and when he said 5'6", magician told him to keep standing with his hand in the air. He went around the room and picked another guy and said, "hmmm, whose 5'6"? YOU! How tall are you?" the guy said, 6'1" and nathan said, "just as I thought, 5'6"..." lol. asked him to stand too with hand in the air. He did that twice more, so there were 4 guys standing with their hands up. Then nathan went on stage and said, "okay, I need 4 volunteers...ooh, look there are 4 volunteers with their hands up! come on up guys!" lol. Then the mask skit. oh, there is just absolutely no describing it. you just had to be there. Suffice it to say, we were ROFL, and I was crying bc I was laughing SOOOOOOOOOOO hard! I've never seen anything else funnier!!!! LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT! If you go to vegas, you have to check it out, and its great for kids, too!
Well, one day the guys gambled while Seana, Andru, Paige and I went walking the strip. We went to Xcalibur to take the tram to Mandalay bay and saw the sharks and the huge acuqarium. There is a great picture of us in a tunnel where the aquarium goes all around; all you see if fish/sharks/turtles. Then we went to New York, New York to check out coney island for the kids. We were going to ride the roller coaster, but not at $15 each! lol so then we went to MGM to see the live lion habitat, but the feeding wasnt for antoher hour or so. So we headed a little bit down to M&M World. Very neat! We saw a 3D M&M show, did some shopping on their FOUR floors, then it was time for the lion feeding at MGM, so we headed back that way.
We had so much fun in Vegas, but I was so ready to go home and see my babies! When we were waiting in front of the Mirage waiting for the volcano show, a little boy fell off the little fence he was climbing on, while waiting and all of a sudden we just heard a SPLAT! I looked over to see the little boy who was maybe 7yrs old, laying flat on the concrete. It looked like he may have hit his head, too, but the sound was most likely his hands landing on the concrete. How scary. Makes you just want to hold your babies tight so they never get hurt. Then I started REALLY missing the girls...I just layed on Gordon's chest and was just crying for my kids. I soooooooo wanted to hold them! We were going home in 2 days, but that was a LOOOOOOOONG two days waiting to see them!
